Ear piercing part names in Korean

If you're looking to get your ears pierced while you're in Korea, here's a handy visual guide that shows the various parts of the ear labeled with both their Korean and English names.

This terminology could be a lot more useful than just pointing a vague part of your ear and going "여기" so I'm posting it here in case it might help someone someday. And yes, as you can probably tell, most of these are just Hangul versions ("피어싱") of the English terminology:




  • 헬릭스 - helix
  • 카틸리지 or 귓바퀴 - cartilage
  • 림 - rim
  • 룩 - rook
  • 데이스 - daith
  • 트라거스 - tragus
  • 스너그 - snug
  • 안티 헬릭스 - anti-helix
  • 콘치 - conch
  • 이너컨츠 - inner conch
  • 아웃컨츠 - outer conch
  • 안티 트라거스 - anti-tragus
  • 로브 or 귓불 - lobe
