Max beer discontinued in Korea

Bad news for fans of Max beer. Hite Jinro is discontinuing the brand. Launched in officially in 2006, it enjoyed a 17 year run. I have to admit, this was a pretty good beer. I switched from Cass to Max at some point and though I became a snob and usually go with imported stuff now, Max was always reliable.

Enjoy the remaining supplies of cans at stores and kegs at bars while you can. The current shipments will be the end. If you were a fan, better stock up!

Sales are moving towards Hite's other similar brand, Kelly. Somehow it just doesn't have the same masculine feeling. That slim bottle, the missing frothy head, the name Kelly. It just doesn't feel the same. I need a MAXimum thirst quencher.
