- 대통령선거 Presidential Election
Hugely important event, electing Lee Jae-myung, following the bungled martial law declaration by former president Yoon Suk-yeol. Can you believe that was technically back at the end of December 2024? A lot has happened on the political front in Korea in 2025. - 상생페이백 Win-Win Payback
Government cash back scheme to help stimulate the economy and support small businesses. If you or your Korean spouse used that Onnuri money (온누리상품권) at small businesses, it's related to this. These were generally nationwide and directed at basically all small size businesses, contrasting with the local-focused stimulation moneies. - 폭싹속았수다 When Life Gives You Tangerines

Popular webtoon turned K-drama with a "isekai" story or fantasy romance genre. "After time travelling to the Joseon era, a talented chef meets a tyrant king; her modern dishes captivate his palate, but royal challenges await her." Notable for having SNSD member Yoona in the main role.

Most of the results are frankly not that interesting but feel free to check them out. I'm sure they must censor these lists and remove any unsavory or distasteful terminology so take them with a grain of salt.
Happy New Year folks. I'll try to get myself out of bed early tomorrow and climb myself up my local mountain to see the first sunrise of 2026 with all the other local ajusshis. Or maybe I'll watch some Netflix and pass out and sleep all morning. That sounds nice.
