Real quick FYI, I noticed a few posts from Naver recently about changes they're having to make to a couple of their apps due to new stricter guidelines for background services running in Android 8 Oreo and beyond. I noticed three apps so far have had changes made to accommodate:
Naver tools affected by Android 8 changes |
- Naver app's home screen widget which was basically access to multiple Naver services right on a home screen.
- Naver app's quick menu widget that popped out from the side with a wheel of customizable icons.
- Naver Blog app's widgets which showed a real time reading list of blog's you follow and stats on your own
- Naver app's background notification service is getting revamped, removing some features like customized alert styles (pop ups, etc) in favor of Android's standard notification management, plus is getting more granular settings for which types of push alerts you wants.
One thing that looks nice about this is the setting for 로그인시 2단계 인증 알림 which suggests your Naver 2-factor authentication codes may be sent to the app via notification, so you can copy/input it quickly. That will be nicer than having to fishing for the time-based code deep in the app settings.
That beautiful image above represents my first time using Paint 3D. Felt guilty abandoning Paint, my old friend of at least 30 years, but I gotta say Paint 3D is pretty nice even just for basic 2D edits. Always a fan of simple, "do 1 job and do it well" type apps.
