A little ironic that I got this notice yesterday considering that just last month, I filed for a replacement card since I couldn't find mine and a bank here wanted a copy. Not just the number itself, they insisted on seeing and photocopying my original USA social security card and wouldn't let me do the transaction without it. Usually I just provide the number and that's good enough but somehow this community bank wanted the actual card. So if yours is missing, consider making a visit and talking about it. Could be a good chance for parents with mixed nationality kids too.
Pass the info on to anyone around who you think might benefit.
