Top songs of 2019 in Korea via Naver VIBE

Earlier this year, Naver's music streaming service received a big upgrade and now goes by the name of Naver VIBE. It functions like Spotify or other similar services that analyze your listening habits to make recommendations.

This month VIBE released their lists of the top tracks on the platform for this year (2019). The lists are actual playlists inside the app, so for your convenience here are the lists in a more easily readable format.

VIBE released several playlists highlighting the top trending tracks of the year, but here are the two that you're probably most interested in: the top K-pop tracks of the year, and the overall top tracks of 2019 (which of course includes K-pop plus foreign music tracks).

All links below go to Naver VIBE's pages for the track, artist, or album. If you are on mobile and have the VIBE app installed it may try to open in the app. Most of these songs will play a 1-minute sample for free. Technically VIBE is a paid service but pretty cheap (the promotion that pops up offers a free month of service, with the next 4 months priced at just 1,000 won/month ($1/month). There's also a free version. Compare the free/paid features here.

I've chosen to list just the Top 10 songs, but the playlists themselves on the VIBE webpage (linked below each list) are huge so you can drill down and see exactly where your favorite song falls in the ranking. These are based on popularity on the VIBE app, so might be slightly different from other top song ranks.

Note: I've not translated the group names, but I'll assume if you're a huge K-pop fan, you can read Korean. Each listing here follows this format:
  • Album cover
  • Track name
  • Artist name
  • Album name

I'm going to guess that Frozen 2 was released too late this year to make it into the rankings, because it seems to have exploded now in December. The film is dubbed here and the main song, "Into The Unknown," was sung by Taeyeon of Girls' Generation fame.  You can give it a listen here on VIBE:
