Coupang price tracking made easy with AllTimePrice

Here is a site that tracks the price history of items on Coupang, to get a good idea of whether the current listed price is a good deal or not. If you're familiar with the Camelcamelcamel site that tracks Amazon purchases, it's similar. There are a handful of sites like this, but none seem to have been documented in English. So I figured I'd put up a quick post about the one that I have used most: AllTimePrice (역대가).

AllTimePrice - how it works

Just copy the URL of the Coupang product you're looking at buying, and paste it into AllTimePrice. You'll get a simple graph showing the historical price history of the item over time. Based on that data, the site will suggest to you how likely the price is to lower. If that likelihood is low, you ought to go ahead and buy.

Let's take an example.

Say you have been wanting to buy an air purifier. Let's go with the Coupang recommendation:

The URL for this air purifier is https://www.coupang.com/vp/products/7473527911?itemId=19505730851&vendorItemId=86614734926

So copy that and hop over to AllTimePrice

Paste in the URL and we get the product page for this item on AllTimePrice:

We get a quick overview of the highest and lowest prices the site has seen for this item.

Price history graph

Scroll down and we get a graph of the fluctuation of the price of the item:

We can see that between Sept 7 and Sept 12, the price shot up to its highest level by far. I'm not sure why that is. Checking historical air quality data, it doesn't seem like those were high pollution times. Maybe they were low on stock? Who knows. We can also see that on average, the price was raised on Saturdays. More people at home on the weekends, noticing that their home air quality is bad? Or maybe harder to get that Rocket delivery going over the weekend? Either way, based on that data, it could be worthwhile to buy on Thursday or Friday instead.

Price change alerts

Think it might go even lower, or not willing to spend more than a set amount?

You can also sign-up to get price alerts. For example you can specify a price you are willing to pay, and when/if it reaches that threshold, you'll be notified. You can sign up with a simple e-mail address, but for best results, use their app to get push alerts.

You can check your Watched list right there on the webpage or via the app.

This could especially come in handy for big ticket items. Let's say you have a hankering to buy some bars of 24 karat gold. You know, because you want to drop 3.8M won for that unmistakable feeling of solid gold in your hands.

Oof. AllTimePrice tells me there is a 99% chance this product will be cheaper soon. In fact just days ago it was ~$300 cheaper. Now I don't know if that's related to gold price fluctuations or not, but no reason I should pay more when I don't have to. Maybe I'll wait and indulge myself next week instead of today.

Works fine via auto-translate

And actually the best part is that the site itself is so simple, Chrome's auto-translation feature makes it completely usable and understandable in any language. Here it is auto-translated into English:

Piece of cake.

Limitation - only Rocket delivery

Note that there is one key limit to the site: it generally only tracks items available via Rocket Delivery (로켓배송). So items that come directly from 3rd party sellers have no price history when you look them up.

Other similar websites

AllTimePrice isn't the only service that offers Coupang historical price tracking and monitoring. Here are some other useful ones that even include more features, such as alerting you when an item is available used or refurbished.

I just use All Time Price because it's simple and I don't buy a huge amount of items anyway. Try them all out and see which works best for you.

Happy shopping.
