10원 Tips on Bluesky |
I've been sitting on that account for several months now not really expecting to use it much. But in the past couple of months, it seems like Bluesky penetration has grown and much to my shock, when I logged in the other day that a basically blank account already had 12 followers. And since I was using Buffer to post links to Twitter/X and Mastodon anyway, and since Buffer allows you to crosspost to 3 accounts under their free plan, I figured why not turn it on too. So for a week I've been crossposting links there.
Truthfully a lot of the content I post these days are not blog posts here but just interesting links or bitesized mini-posts on those quick SNS platforms. It seems less intimidating and faster to just jot off a quick minipost there than the rigamarole of a blog post. I'm sure a lot of you out there can agree with me. I don't like it over all since it means this content is trapped in these services but at the same time I'm posting tips worth about 10 won each so no big losses there. Maybe I should do more miniposts here instead but I doubt I will.
It's funny to join Bluesky because I'm actually not a fan of it. I'm rooting for the fediverse to win this collapse of the old SNS empires. I think it makes more sense going forward and is a better idea than these private equity, VC backed people who have de facto control of you and your content. Musk shows what happens when you depend on one locked in service. But I go where the people are, and the people are either on Twitter still or apparently Bluesky. I'm keeping the Mastodon presence of course.
So now, in addition to the RSS feed and my Twitter account and my Mastodon feed, you can also follow this blog and other links of my choosing at Bluesky.
Thanks for the many years of support. I don't post much actual content these days besides nicked logo doodles but I still appreciate it and hope some of these links, posts, and info has helped a few people out.
