Naver's AI language generation tech, now under the "Clova" moniker, is being integrated into a lot of Naver services lately. I showed some examples of prompt responses from their chatbot Clova X and how it compares to ChatGPT and Bard. It's also integrated into Naver Search via the "Cue" service. But another interesting integration is the addition of "Clova for Writing" into the Smart Editor post writer for Naver Blogs. Using this, you can supplment your blog posts via the power of Clova and even have it write posts for you.
This isn't available yet, but on some sites and videos Naver has offered previews of it in action, so today let's take a look at some screenshots of Clova for Writing in action in a sample Naver Blog post.
Clova augmenting your personal blog content
First we get a glimpse at some use cases for augmenting the blog post you've already personally written.
For example, adding a summary:
Here the user highlights the text of his blog post, taps the AI pop-up, and chooses "Summarize".
Clova adds a summary (sort of a TL;DR) at the bottom of the post, with a main topic in bold and the subpoints under that.
Now the author highlights the AI-generated summary and chooses "Tag creation"
Relevant hashtags are generated for the post, which in Naver Blog can be used as tagging labels.

You can see several other options for inserting other aspects of your blog post here. In order:
- Generate a title
- Generate post tags/labels
- Summarize
- Generate introduction
- Generate conclusion
- Analyze writing style
Generating new blog content automatically
It verifies that, based on your post data, it has determined the following:
- Your interests: driving, travel, weekend trips
- Your spoken style: friendly, cheerful, share specific tips and info
- Your common phrases: "You're doing great / Let's go! / Driving music recommendation!"
So, he uses the AI writer pop-up which asks for a blog post topic.
The author inputs "Local weekend seaside driving course recommendation"
The AI is generating...
And presto!
Clova produces the text of a blog post in a friendly but somewhat impersonal tone:
안녕하세요! 여러분 이번 일주일도 고생하셨습니다.
주말마다 드라이브하는 직장인 그리니입니다.
오늘은 더운 여름 마음이 시원해지는 근교 나들이 코스를 가져왔습니다.
저는 최근에 친구들과 함께 영종도 바다를 보고 왔답니다.
맛집, 카페, 뷰 포인트, 드라이브 루트 팁까지!
제가 직접 찾은 숨은 명소를 대공개합니다.

But there's more...
Now it begins going back through this base generated post, focused on the pink phrases to more jovially revise the tone and style of the text to make it match the particular Naver user's writing style. These are minor changes but adding little flourishes like 쏠쏠하게! do make it seem more like a real human being is behind this.
I suppose, in a way, there was, since this is based on real posts the author has made previously. What happens when all of a user's blog posts are AI generated?
Final thoughts
Anyway, pretty interesting stuff. You won't have this option available yet in your Naver Blog account. It's currently in beta testing and available only to a limited number of bloggers who signed-up to participate in the test. No public release date has been announced yet.

I doubt I would use this tech because half the fun of keeping this blog is to have a place to spew. AI takes the fun out of that. But I bet it could generate better titles for posts than I can. Actually, my original title for this post was "A look at Naver's AI language generator Clova used in Naver Blogs". I asked Bard to make a better title. It did, but then I added "(Screenshot tour)" which probably weakens it.
Of course Wordpress already has incorporated similar functionality into its post editor. I doubt Google will ever put something like that into Blogger. I doubt Google will do much with Blogger at all anymore. But for now it, and me, are still here.
